Your first five minutes on Veriroo

Creating an account is free, takes one registration, and needs no card. What is less obvious is what you get straight away, and what you are not being asked to decide yet.

Everyone starts as a collector

There is no choice of account type at sign up, and that is deliberate. Every Veriroo account begins as a collector account with a private collection area, whether you are a painter, a photographer, someone who bought a piece at a fair, or someone who inherited one.

The reason is that collector is the role every other role sits on top of. An artist is someone who owns and registers their own work. A verifier is someone with a collection like anyone else who also takes jobs. Starting everyone in the same place means nothing has to be migrated later when you change what you do.

One free account covers all three roles. There is no separate sign up for each.

What is free

Creating the account and uploading to your private collection cost nothing, and there is no limit being held back from you. Free accounts also get 25 Verity questions a day, which reset daily. Asking how something works, getting help through an upload or being pointed at the right screen never spends one.

What costs money is a sale, a certificate, an expert verification or an AI valuation. Those are explained where you meet them, and none of them are in your way today.

The one thing worth doing first

Register one piece.

Not because the platform needs it, but because an empty collection cannot show you anything. Almost everything Veriroo does is a thing that happens to a piece: a provenance record builds up, a certificate attaches, a seal binds to it, a valuation is run against it, a buyer sees its history. Until there is one piece in your account, all of that is abstract.

It does not have to be your best work or your most valuable piece. It stays private unless you switch it on to Showcase, so nothing is on display while you are finding your way around.

The one minute that protects the rest

Add a backup email address, and do it on day one rather than the day you need it.

It is optional, it sits with your private details in your account, and the verification link goes to the backup address itself, so only somebody who can open that inbox can finish the job.

The reason to do it early is that a backup address is not treated as fully settled the moment you add it. Your account status stays Amber for the first 90 days after a backup is added, and turns Green once it has been in place for that long with nothing unusual on the account. A backup you added this morning is not the same as one that has been sitting there since spring, and the account status says so out loud.

That waiting period is the point. Nobody can change the main address on a Veriroo account from inside the account, not you and not anyone who got into it, so a recovery address is not a back door to be walked through. What a freshly added backup does do is show: adding or changing one sends a security notice to your main address, so you hear about it at the address someone would be trying to cut you out of, and the account drops to Amber for 90 days while it settles. Add one today and that window has already passed by the time you ever need it.

Two other things the status watches, worth knowing so the colours make sense. A backup added but left unverified for more than 24 hours turns the account Red, because a half finished recovery address is worse than none. And having no backup at all keeps you Amber indefinitely.

It also gives support a second confirmed way to reach you, which matters because changing the main address on a Veriroo account is not something you can do yourself. It goes through support, and a long standing verified backup makes that conversation considerably shorter.

Adding a role when you are ready

Artist tools switch on instantly from your account, with no application and no wait. That gives you the ability to register work as its creator, set a resale royalty, and sell.

Becoming an Expert is different: you apply, and applications are reviewed before access is granted. Collector access stays on your account either way.

Neither decision has to be made now, and neither is permanent. Adding a role does not take anything away from you.

What Veriroo is for, in one paragraph

Every piece you register gets a record: who made it, how it was made, and who has owned it since. That record is what a certificate certifies, what a seal points at when somebody taps it, and what a buyer reads before they decide. The work of the platform is keeping that record honest and making it easy to add to. Everything else, the marketplace, the prints, the valuations, is built on top of it.
